About a month ago we visited the Australian War Memorial. I had heard it was a huge building with so much displayed within it that it would take days to take it all in. I didn’t think this would be true, but you soon realise the grandeur of the building, as it houses airplanes, model displays, cinematic screens and a vast […]

The Great Oz Eddventure #38 – Pelican Feeding at Tidbinbilla
Everyday at 1.30 the two resident pelicans at Tidibinbilla get fed. This is a great activity to watch. The brolga also gets fed a fish too.
The Great Oz Eddventure #37 – Wedge Tailed Eagles second appearance
First appearance can be found clicking on this sentence. Driving to work on Monday morning I was lucky again to see a Wedge Tailed Eagle at the side of the road munching on something dead. I stopped as quick as I could. I fumbled around in my bag trying to find my camera, and in […]
The Great Oz Eddventure #36 – Turtle Roadsign
Everytime I drive to and from work I see the below turtle roadsign warning drivers that Eastern Longnecked Turtles may be crossing the road. When I see this sign I always imagine the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles in the foreground, hence my creation above.
The Great Oz Eddventure #35 – Batman Street
Yes, there really is a Batman Street! When I first looked at a Canberra map when we moved here, I was quick to spot this Batman Street, and so I photographed it (picture below). It just took me until today to create a picture that I liked for it!
Two new koalas at Tidbinbilla
Last weekend was exciting at Tidbinbilla as two new Koalas move in to the Eucalaypt Forest. They are on view for a month before being fully released into the enclosure – so if you are in Canberra, they are definately worth checking out!
Tidbinbloga Logo
Because I am creating a lot of pitures to do with where I work at Tidbinbilla, I decided that I needed a logo for it. So I created a cartoon version of the current logo (featuring the endangered Southern Brushtailed Rock Wallaby sitting on a rock, next to a Grass Tree Xanthorrhoea), but something extra was […]

The Great Oz Eddventure #33 – Dancing Brolga
At Tidbinbilla we have a resident Brolga, and I have heard people saying that they have seen him ‘dance’. I didn’t quite believe this could be, but this morning I saw the ‘dance’! The dance consisted of him running around stomping his feet, stretching his wings out repeatedly, whilst all accompanied by his vocal “BRRRRAPK” sound. […]
The Great Oz Eddventure #32 – Ringtail Possum Joey
This is my 100th blog post, and what a cute post it is! At the weekend, Hazel and I had a trip to Sydney. Returning back to our hotel on Saturday evening we came across a tiny Ringtail Possum joey waddling around the hotels entrance. Unfortunately we weren’t the only ones who had our eyes […]
