The Great Oz Eddventure #59 – Scuba Diving in the Great Barrier Reef

So after our night in Cairns we headed over to the Great Barrier Reef – hoorah, I have been waiting to dive it!  We went with Deep Sea Divers Den who had fun staff  and amazing chefs!  Hazel stayed on board for one night to complete her Open Water Course, which she did, and then was able to join me for a pleasure dive afterwards which she thoroughly enjoyed.  I stayed on the boat for three nights as Hazel had to pop to Port Douglas for a work conference.  I think that I had the better deal here!
It was great to be back in the water again amongst plenty of fish, a place that I can relax and feel privileged in.  I just love to see all the colours and shapes that the reef’s ecosystems has to offer.
As always, I took my underwater camera with me and below are some of my favourite shots – the day boat on the reef, turtle, large Sting Ray in the sand, large shoal of large Bumphead Parrotfish. large clam and large Cuttlefish.  Yes, everything would seem to be large!!

Now revisiting all these dive memories, I want to go back..!!
