You can’t beat a morning of drawing followed by a pizza lunch! This is what happens at the Ace Comics Drawing Meetup. Next one is on Saturday 29th – see you there!
As I have been looking forward to seeing the original TMNT on the big screen tonight at Metro Arts in Brisbane, I have been inspired by drawing the cute Teenage Mutant Ninja Long Necked Turtle 🙂
Ace Comics June Meetup
On Saturday I joined the Ace Comics drawing group in Annerley. This was the first time I went to this and was great to meet other illustrators, including people I’d met before at expos.
I drew two pages. One included Ringo the Ringtail Possum and other characters of mine, but after we ordered pizza for lunch, I soon got in to a turtles mode and created the Australian version – Teenage Mutant Ninja Long Necked Turtles!!
“I Can Hug Trees Too”
Just thought I’d post this as it is something a little bit different from my usual cute and fluffy wildlife animals! I came across some cicada shells on a tree on a recent lunch time walk in Whites Hill Reserve in Brisbane and so I attempted to sketch them.. Then I realised that, yes they may not be cute and fluffy, but they do belong to the wonderful natural landscape and the order of animals called ‘Tree Huggers’ which classification covers a wide range of animals which includes koalas, possums, snakes, and nature loving humans.
