My cute Australian wildlife merchandise for this month is a funky tree silhouette featuring Australian birds. I have changed the leaves for musical notes as I love Aussie bird calls.
The design is available on a range of products including adults and kids clothing and home wares and gifts. To see the full range please visit the link below:
Wahoo today is National Tree Day! And to mark the occasion here are a selection of thumbnail tree sketches from my current sketchbook!
Today I will be doing some conservation for Mount Gravatt Environment Group so expect some pictures of that next week!
Further to Saturday’s post of my long necked turtle eating pizza from July’s meetup of the Ace Comics drawing group, here are the rest of my sketches from the day. Some of my koala characters and random people who where at the comic book store to play games for the day. Also I am designing a tree for my August merchandise – stay tuned for more!!
As soon as I saw Groot from Guardians of the Galaxy at the Marvel Creating the Cinematic Universe at GOMA, Brisbane, I knew I needed to create this picture.
Groot, being a tree, just had to have a koala on him! And in such a great pose, my little koala just fitted perfectly hugging his arm.
Cute or what? Maybe Groot could be the Guardian of the Koalas?
It’s that awesome time of the month again when I join the Brisbane Painting and Drawing Meetup Group for a social and fun arty get together. Last weekend on Sunday we were at Moora Park in Shorncliffe enjoying the fresh air, sounds of the waves hitting the shore, and in some great company.
In the morning I sketched a couple of palm trees, some people, an ibis and a few characters that are rummaging around in the back of my mind.
It’s always greatly inspiring to see the diverse range of creativity amongst everyone else who goes and also to see other parts of Brisbane I have yet been to.
In April, I will be arranging the meetup and it will be meeting at the Maritime Museum on Southbank.

Just after New Years we went on a trip to the Whitsundays. The guy who drove the shuttle bus from the airport said “Welcome to the Wetsundays’! Because obviously it rains a lot haha!
And here is a nice little tree sketch. I must say I quite like this one – do you?
Here is something a little bit different for my tree theme this week – Leaf Litter! I think every aspect of the bush needs to be appreciated and enjoyed, and so I took a few minutes in my walk to take in the carpet of leaves on the ground.
Continuing my tree theme this week… here is a tiny palm tree sketch from my lunchtime walk in Whites Hill Reserve.
