Bowerbird love

Over the weekend I was captivated by the male Satin Bowerbird’s bower in the Sanctuary at Tidbinbilla.  He had built this lovely bower and placed blue items around it in order to attract a female mate.  A female did appear and after around 10 minutes of them both making some amazing vocal noises to each other, she went over to inspect the handiwork of his bower.  But in the meantime the male had found a rather tasty grub to play with, and became more interested in the grub then the female awaiting him in his love bower.
