Wooh – Did you know today was National Bilby Day?
You should spend the day appreciating the cuteness of our little adorable marsupial, and at the same time undersanding its endangered due to feral predators and pests in their environment.
I spent a moment today drawing some bilby character concepts as I’ve often wondered about adding the Bilby to my cute Aussie characters. Ringo and Z are enjoying celebrating the day with him – what do you reckon?
For loads of info on the bilby and how to help them please see Save the Bilby Fund
Did you know that September is Save the Koala Month?
The Australian Koala Foundation have shared one of my little koala heart sketches to their event page
Head over to their event page and see how you could help save out beautiful little marsupials.
I have always been a big fan of Aardman Animations and it was fantastic being able to see the models, sets, sketches, behind the scenes footage and even get a chance of doing some animation.
This is well worth the visit, I literally spent 6 hours taking it in all.
Little threatened species Australia is lost amongst the crowds and it’s trees nowhere to be found…
Some afternoon conservation fun at Moorhen Flats Freecs in Woolloongababba. Lots of weed removal to help nature along its way. Even a little butcher bird came to inspect our handiwork (or maybe to see what juicy morsels we had uncovered).
September is here and in the calendar this month is the adorable sleeping koala, Ringo the Ringtail Possum, Kookaburra and Long Necked Turtle. Adorable or what?! To see the full calendar please click here.

This week I had a lovely but cold short break in Melbourne, and took some photos of what inspired my arty side, which included AC/DC Lane, the Zine exhibition at the State Library, and sketching time at the Royal Botanic Gardens.
The highlight for me though was the Wallace and Gromit exhibition and once Ive sorted through my many pictures I will post those at the weekend.
Here are the first lots of photos that I have posted into my Facebook page:
Here are a few photos of my table at the zine marketplace as part of the Queensland Poetry Festival this weekend. It was great to interact with so many creative people in Brisbane and to showcase my mini comics and greeting cards featuring possums, koalas and other cute Australian wildlife.
My cute Australian wildlife merchandise for this month is a funky tree silhouette featuring Australian birds. I have changed the leaves for musical notes as I love Aussie bird calls.
The design is available on a range of products including adults and kids clothing and home wares and gifts. To see the full range please visit the link below:
